IC Links Co, LLC ("IC Links," "we," "us," or "our") operates iclinksco.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, place an order, create an account, or gift a Journey to someone else, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Site, whether or not you create an account.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run your order, your subscription, and your account — and we never sell or share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing purposes. The rest of this page explains that in more detail.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few different ways, depending on how you use the Site:
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, shipping address, and phone number when you place an order, sign up for a Journey, or gift one to someone else; your email and password when you create an account (we never see your actual password — see "Account and authentication data" below); and anything you write to us, like a support email or a Journal Wall post.
- Order and payment information — what you purchased, your order history, and your shipping preferences. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number (see "Third-party services" below).
- Account and authentication data — if you create an account, your sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Firebase stores your email and an encrypted credential; we never have access to your plaintext password.
- Information collected automatically — standard technical information like your browser type and IP address, collected the way any website's server naturally does through normal web traffic. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, like which pages are popular and how people find us — see "Third-party services" below. We don't use advertising pixels.
- Local storage — we use your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) to remember things like items in your Bag or an in-progress Journey you haven't checked out yet, so you don't lose your place if you navigate away. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you actually check out.
How we use your information
- To process and fulfill your orders and subscription shipments
- To create and maintain your account, if you have one
- To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and account-related emails (like a password reset)
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to keep the Site secure
- To improve the Site and the products we offer
We do not use your information to send marketing email unless you've asked us to, and we do not build advertising profiles from your data.
We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any reason. We don't share it with other businesses for their own marketing purposes. The only place your information goes is to the service providers below, and only so they can help us actually run the Site and fulfill your order — not for anything of their own.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Site. Each only receives the information it genuinely needs to do its job:
- Stripe — processes all payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google) — handles account sign-in and stores uploaded product images. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the Site, like which pages are popular and how people find us. It collects information like pages viewed and general location through cookies and similar technology — never your name, email, or exact address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails, like order confirmations, gift invitations, and password-reset links.
These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide their service to us — not for their own purposes.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies necessary for it to function — for example, keeping you signed in, or a cookie Stripe sets during checkout to process your payment securely — plus Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Site. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser add-on, or block cookies generally in your browser settings. We don't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep your information
We keep order and account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, tax, and legal purposes. If you'd like your account and personal information deleted, contact us (see "Contact us" below) and we'll take care of it, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.
Your choices
- Access or update your information — sign in to your account to view your order history, or email us to request a copy of what we have on file.
- Delete your account — email us and we'll delete your account and associated personal information, subject to the retention note above.
- Cancel a subscription — you can cancel an active Journey subscription any time from your account page.
- Journal Wall posts — posts show only a display name you choose, never your real name or email. You can ask us to remove a post at any time.
Children's privacy
IC Links is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including relying on established providers (Stripe, Firebase) that maintain their own strong security standards for the most sensitive data — your payment details and password. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new service provider. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
